Welcome

All people are welcome here, St. John’s church is a friendly place, whether young, old, single, married, teenager or children. This is a beautiful church on the edge of the Peak District, and is ideal for weddings and funerals.

On Sunday, at 9am there is a traditional service of Holy Communion, and then later, at 10.30 an informal family worship service. At the 10.30 service, there are age - related groups available for children. Tea and coffee are available after both services.

Teenagers can come to the alcohol free youth bar on Saturday evenings where there are also opportunities to play games.

Cell groups - home based Bible- study groups - meet in the week, where there is an opportunity to share with other people and study the Bible together. It is a good place to support each other.

Every Tuesday a group of people go into the local school and run a lunch-time club. It is a good opportunity for the children to learn about Jesus and how Jesus loves them.

On Wednesday afternoons, there is a drop-in the church where you are welcome to come and meet other people and enjoy a cup of tea!

On Thursday evenings the church is open for prayer. It’s a good opportunity to come and sit quietly and say your own prayers, and if needed, ask other people to pray for you.

Please enjoy our website and feel free to come along to our church.

We at St John's are committed, through love and prayer, to grow daily in God's grace so that the light of Jesus shines wherever he leads us.
