Welcome We at Families are very important in our church and we consider ourselves a church family, made up of young, old, married and single; absolutely everyone is welcome. Facilities for children include age-related groups and regular family services. Our teenagers enjoy a range of activities and benefit from our purpose-built non-alcoholic bar every Saturday. The beautiful church, on the edge of the Peak District, is an ideal setting for weddings and christenings. We offer a choice of service every Sunday. You can either attend the traditional early morning communion or come along to the later, informal, family service. Whichever you prefer, you will be welcomed into a warm, friendly atmosphere. The worship is contemporary with the latest technology. Every service ends with the chance to pray with someone or chat over tea or coffee. Biscuits are free too! Our fellowship does not stop at the church door on Sunday lunchtime. Home-based Bible-study groups meet regularly. They give opportunity for people to learn together, to pray together and help each other. These evenings are always encouraging and often lots of fun! There are also many ways to become involved in the running of the church and extra social events to enjoy throughout the year. St John’s church has been growing over recent years and we expect this to continue. We are excited for the times ahead. God is amazing and does wonderful things for those who look for Him. We are keen to see everyone who comes to our church changed by the power of God at work in their lives. He’s real and wants to do good things for us all. Please come and be touched by our mighty Father in heaven! God’s power does not stay inside church. We look for ways to go into the local area and bring that love and power to people everywhere. Every Tuesday, a team of people goes into a local school to provide Bible teaching for a lunch-time club. The children love it! They have been enjoying learning about our salvation through Jesus Christ. Did you know that Jesus died for you? He died to make a way for you to have a place in heaven, to be with God, to have a relationship with Him? Please enjoy our website and feel free to come along to our church. |
